After a year of trying to conceive a child without success, my husband and I began to question "why." Local test results revealed that all was well ... we were both young, we were both healthy, and we were diagnosed by local doctors as "unexplained" infertility. We were told to simply go home and to be more patient. My "gut" feeling was telling me otherwise, though. Local physicians recommended Dr. Vasquez to us. That very same week, my husband saw an old childhood friend of his. To his amazement, his friend began to open up about his own infertility issues and mentioned how he and his wife had just recently met with Dr. Vasquez and was very impressed with him and his facility. We knew that this encounter was more than just a coincidence, so we quickly made our consultation appointment with Dr. Vasquez. On December 1, 2006, we made the commute to Nashville, TN from Paducah, KY to visit Dr. Vasquez. Testing performed by his staff revealed that we had little chance of conceiving a child on our own. Dr. Vasquez recommended in-vitro fertilization as the best option. In March 2007, we underwent our first IVF cycle. Dr. Vasquez and his staff were wonderful, caring, and informative throughout the entire process. We felt like they were an extended part of our family. On April 4, 2007 I received the best phone call of my life, with Dr. Vasquez's staff informing me that I was pregnant ... with twins! On November 23, 2007 we welc After a year of emptiness, frustration, and sadness ... I now have a life filled with joy, love, and happiness. Every day that I wake to see Ethan & Kate's smiling faces, I am reassured of how wonderful and blessed my life is. All Mothers who struggled with infertility share a common bond ... an immeasurable amount of love for her children. Thanks to the Grace of God and with the help of Dr. Vasquez and his staff, I finally made it ... I finally get to snuggle with "my" babies in my arms ... I finally get to stroll "my" children around the neighborhood ... I finally get to talk with other Moms about "my" kids ... and I finally get to be called a "Mother." |
